Mount Airy, NC
Mount Airy is a small town in the northwest part of North Carolina, just over the
Virginia border and nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Settled in the
1750's as a stagecoach stop between Winsten-Salem, NC and Galax, VA, it is
perhaps now best known as Mayberry, from the popular television show, Andy Griffith.
With a population of a little over 10,000, it is quintessential small-town America, with
friendly people, good food and, of course, great ponies!
